About VOO Calculator

What we do

VOO Calculator is a free, independent tool built to help people explore how a VOO investment could grow over time under different assumptions. It's a calculator first — the goal is a clear, honest projection tool, not a place to sell a particular investment view.

About the author

Muhammad Hamza

Business Analyst & Project Manager, Fintech

Muhammad Hamza is the independent creator and maintainer of VOO Calculator. He has spent 5+ years working in the fintech industry in business analysis and project management roles, working on financial systems, data-driven decision-making, and product delivery. He built VOO Calculator to bring that same rigor to a free, transparent tool for exploring how VOO investments could grow.

How data is sourced: fund figures like expense ratios, dividend yield, and holdings are checked against Vanguard's own VOO fund page before publishing. Historical return and price data (e.g. the year-by-year returns table) is computed from Yahoo Finance's adjusted monthly closes, which may differ slightly from Vanguard's own published figures. Every calculator's formulas are documented in full on the methodology page rather than left as a black box.

How we build our calculations

Every formula and assumption used on this site is documented in full on our methodology page. We don't hide assumptions in a black box — if a number affects your result, you can see exactly how it's used.
