VOO ROI Calculator
Estimate the total return on investment and annualized growth rate (CAGR) for a VOO investment, based on your own contribution and return assumptions.
Your investment

How the VOO ROI calculator works
This calculator runs the same monthly-compounding projection as our main VOO calculator, then adds two figures focused specifically on return: total ROI, and an approximate CAGR (compound annual growth rate).
Total ROI is estimated investment growth divided by total contributions, shown as a percentage. Approximate CAGR treats your total money invested as if it were one lump sum growing steadily to the final value, which gives an intuitive annualized figure — though it will typically read lower than your assumed return whenever you're making ongoing contributions, since later contributions have less time to compound.
Example calculation
Investing $10,000 up front with $500 added monthly for 20 years at an assumed 7% annual return produces a projected future value with a meaningfully higher total ROI than the same scenario over just 10 years — because compounding has more time to work. The CAGR figure lets you compare scenarios with different time horizons or contribution amounts on a more even, annualized basis.
